Malpha Bit - Adjustable (35mm)

An adjustable wood boring bit from the Malpha range, set around 35mm. Adjustable means the cutter moves on the body, so one bit covers a span of diameters rather than a single fixed size - which matters to a fitter who meets hinge cups, grommets, cable holes and fittings of several different diameters across a week and would otherwise carry a bit for each. Thirty-five millimetres is the standard concealed cabinet hinge cup size, so that is the setting it will spend most of its life at. Set the cutter carefully and check the diameter on a scrap piece before touching the work, because an adjustable bit that has drifted bores an oversize hole and a hinge cup that will not hold.
