Masonry bit -6 x 160

A masonry drill bit measuring 6mm across and 160mm in overall length, for concrete, block, brick and stone. The carbide tip is what does the work - it chips its way through rather than cutting like a twist bit, which is why a masonry bit needs a hammer setting on the drill and why it will not go through steel reinforcement. This is the size most reached for, because 6mm suits the wall plugs used for the great majority of household and site fixings, and the 160mm length reaches through plaster and render into solid material behind. Pull the bit out periodically to clear dust from the hole, and let the hammer action do the work rather than leaning on the drill. Sold individually.
