Wall Plug - Grey Open HATCH (M14)

Grey open-type wall plugs in M14, Hatch's own brand and the largest plug on our shelf. Beyond this size, fixings move from plastic plugs to steel anchors, so this is the top of what a plug will do. The open body splays and folds outward as the screw enters rather than expanding as a solid mass, which is what makes it forgiving in the rough, oversized or broken-out holes that come with coarse block and old rubble-filled walls. Used for gate and grille frames, heavy canopies and awnings, water tanks on stands, racking, and substantial brackets on walls that will not take a precise hole. Clear the hole out thoroughly - at this diameter, debris left behind stops the plug seating and the whole fixing feels soft.
