Tape Measure (7.5-meters)

A seven-and-a-half metre tape measure, the step up from the standard five. Those extra two and a half metres change what one person can do alone: measuring a whole building elevation, setting out a slab or foundation, checking diagonals for square across a room, running out a wall of shelving or a long counter, and measuring roof spans and timber lengths that a five-metre tape simply cannot reach in one go. The blade is correspondingly wider and stiffer so it stands out further before folding. Masons, carpenters, shopfitters and anyone setting out work keep one alongside the shorter tape. Check the hook is straight and undamaged - on a long tape a bent hook puts every measurement out by the same amount.
