TANGIT - (50g)

Tangit in a 50 gram tin. Ask for Tangit and everybody knows you mean the cement that joins PVC pipe - the brand has become the word for the product, the way it has for Conta. It does not glue in the ordinary sense: the solvent softens the surface of both the pipe and the fitting so the two fuse into one piece as it cures, which is why a properly made joint is as strong as the pipe itself and why a badly made one leaks for ever. Fifty grams is the repair size, enough for a handful of joints - a burst length replaced, a tap connection redone, a gutter or downpipe fitting. Cut square, clean and dry both faces, apply evenly, push home with a quarter turn and hold.
