Steel drill bit -8mm

An 8mm twist drill bit for steel and other metals. We carry two bits at this diameter and this is the more expensive one; what separates them is not recorded in our catalogue, and in drill bits that difference is usually the steel and any coating - a plain high-speed bit against a cobalt or titanium-coated one, which holds an edge far longer in tough or stainless material. Ask at the counter if it matters for your work. Either way it is the clearance size for M8 bolts through brackets, base plates, gussets and hangers. Clamp the work, run the drill slow, ease off as the tip breaks through, and pilot the hole first in anything thicker than sheet. Cutting oil pays for itself at this diameter.
