A packet of ten 2.5mm twist drill bits for steel. At this diameter a bit is fragile enough that buying singly is false economy - it takes very little to break one: the drill tipping a few degrees, the workpiece shifting, or the tip snatching as it comes through the far face. Two and a half millimetres is the pilot and small-thread size, used to start a hole so a larger bit runs true, to drill the tapping hole for fine threads, and for cable, instrument, name-plate and light sheet work. Keep the drill perpendicular, run it slow, press lightly and ease right off at breakthrough. Punch-mark first. A packet in the drawer turns a snapped bit into a ten-second interruption.
