Cavalry self-tapping screws in gauge 6, half an inch long. A self-tapper cuts its own thread as it drives, which is what lets it fix into sheet metal, thin steel section and plastic without anyone drilling and tapping first. At half an inch these are the short ones, meant for joining thin material to thin material where there is nothing behind to reach: ducting and trunking, light steel framing, gutter and flashing work, appliance and cabinet panels, brackets on box section. Drill a pilot suited to the screw shank in harder steel; in thin sheet many trades drive them straight. Do not over-torque them - a self-tapper that strips its thread in thin material has nothing to bite on and the whole hole is lost.
