Pliers - EXPERT (6-inch)

Pliers in the six-inch size, branded EXPERT. Two inches shorter than the standard pattern changes what they are good for rather than simply making them weaker: less handle means less crushing force, but far better control and the ability to work inside a consumer unit, a back box, a control panel or an appliance where a full-size pair cannot be opened. Electricians and instrument fitters keep both lengths for that reason. Serrated jaws for gripping small stock and conductors, and side cutters for wire and small fasteners. Heavy bar and thick wire want the eight-inch. Judge them on the pivot and the cutting edges: loose pivots and soft cutters are what separate pliers that last from pliers that do not.
