Padbolt - Blue

A padbolt in blue - a sliding bolt with a staple built into the design, so that once the bolt is shot a padlock through it holds the door closed and nobody can slide it back. That single feature is what separates it from a plain bolt: a plain bolt keeps a door shut, a padbolt keeps it locked. It is among the least expensive ways to make a door, gate or shed genuinely secure without cutting a mortice or fitting a lock case, which is why padbolts are everywhere on store rooms, workshops, back gates, kiosks, sheds and rental units across Kenya. Fitted with screws to the door and the frame, so it is only as strong as what it is screwed into - use long screws into solid timber or a plug into masonry.
