MDF Screw - (4 x 40)

Cavalry MDF screws in gauge 4, 40mm long. The shorter partner to the 50mm, and the one to reach for when the joint is shallower than a full carcass: thinner board, drawer boxes, small cabinets and shelving units, fixing backs and bottoms, cleats and glue blocks, and repairs to existing furniture where a longer screw would come through the visible face. Board is unforgiving about screw length in a way solid timber is not, because there is no grain to grip and every extra millimetre is either wasted or in trouble. The slim shank and cutting thread go in without swelling or splitting the material. Countersink so the head pulls flush, and hold the joint tight while driving - board will not pull up as timber does.
