Masonry bit : Hilt - 8 x 160

An 8mm masonry drill bit from Hilt, 160mm long. At this diameter the case for the branded bit is stronger than it is at smaller sizes, because a wider tip meets more resistance and works harder: it heats faster, and a tip that loses its edge stops cutting and starts polishing the hole, which is when people lean on the drill and snap something. Used for the larger wall plugs and light anchor fixings in concrete, dense block and stone - shelving and racking, heavy brackets, gate ironmongery, tank and pump bases. Run it with hammer action, withdraw regularly to clear spoil, and let the bit set its own pace. Sold individually. Our unbranded 8mm bit does the same job for occasional use.
