Masonry bit : Hilt -16 x 160

A 16mm masonry drill bit from Hilt, 160mm long - the widest bit in this length on our shelf, a step above the 14mm. Sixteen millimetres is heavy structural territory: the hole for the largest chemical anchors and through-bolts securing steelwork to concrete, machine beds, crane and hoist mountings, heavy gate posts and columns, and racking bolted into a floor slab. A hole this wide needs a drill with serious hammer energy and a firm two-handed grip - the bit will snatch if it meets reinforcement, and at this diameter the torque is enough to take a machine out of your hands. Clear spoil frequently, keep the bit square, and mark the depth before you start so the anchor reaches full embedment.
