Masonry bit : Hilt - 14 x 160

A 14mm masonry drill bit from Hilt, 160mm long - the widest bit in this length on our shelf. Fourteen millimetres is the hole size for the heaviest anchors: large chemical anchors and through-bolts securing structural steelwork, machine beds, heavy gate posts and columns, roller shutter tracks and racking bolted to a concrete floor. At this diameter a drill without serious hammer energy will not make progress at all - it will simply polish the tip until it stops cutting, which is what wrecks bits and burns out cheap drills. Clear the hole often, keep the drill square and steady, and mark the depth on the bit before you start so the anchor seats to its full embedment.
