Hammer Screwdriver - Combined (6-inch)

A six-inch combined hammer screwdriver, the longer of the two patterns we stock. Two extra inches of shaft do two things: they reach into a recess or past an obstruction the short one cannot, and they let a hammer blow travel further, which shocks a seized fixing harder. Like the short pattern it is built to be struck - a steel cap and a shaft that runs right through the handle, so the blow goes down the tool rather than splitting it. Used on rusted machine screws, painted-over hinge and lock fixings, screws bedded in old timber, and anything an ordinary driver simply rounds off. Strike it squarely with a hammer face. Where reach is not the problem, the four-inch pattern is easier to keep in a pouch.
