Hammer - Chrome Handle

A hammer with a chrome-finished steel handle. The handle material is the whole difference: a wooden-handled hammer eventually works loose at the eye, dries out and splits, and gets thrown away long before the head is worn, while a steel-handled hammer is one piece from face to grip and simply keeps going. That matters most where a hammer lives outdoors or in a damp store, which on most sites is exactly where it lives. Used for the whole range of hammer work - driving and pulling nails, knocking joints together, tapping formwork and shuttering into line, setting pegs and profiles, and general demolition and adjustment. Steel transmits more shock to the hand than wood does, so check the grip is intact before buying.
