Flap Disc (4.5-inch) - (P40)

A 4.5-inch flap disc in P40 grit, the coarsest of the three grades we stock. Grit number runs backwards from what people expect - the lower the number, the coarser the abrasive and the faster it cuts - so P40 is the one to reach for when there is real material to remove: a proud weld to knock down, heavy rust and scale, a cut edge to take back, old paint and coating stripped off steel, and rough shaping before anything else happens. It leaves visible scratches, which is the point rather than a fault; the finer grades follow it. Work at a shallow angle and keep the disc moving, because a coarse disc left in one spot digs a hollow into the work within seconds.
