Flap Disc (4.5-inch) - (P36)

A 4.5-inch flap disc in P36 grit - the coarsest grade on our shelf. Grit numbers run backwards to intuition: lower means coarser and faster cutting, so P36 removes more metal per pass than anything else in the flap disc range. It is for work where speed matters and finish does not yet: knocking down a heavily built-up weld, taking back a badly cut or torn edge, removing thick scale, rust and old coating from structural steel, and rough shaping before the finer grades tidy up. It leaves a deep scratch pattern by design. Keep the disc moving and hold it at a shallow angle; a disc this coarse held in one spot will cut a hollow into the work in a couple of seconds.
