CONTA (50g)

Conta in a 50 gram tin. Most customers walk in and ask for Conta rather than for contact adhesive, and the two mean the same thing here: the glue you spread on both faces, leave until it is touch-dry and tacky, then press together for a bond that holds immediately with no clamps and no waiting. Fifty grams is the single-repair size - resticking a shoe sole, a strip of edging that has lifted, a patch of rubber or leather, a loose trim on a dashboard. Buy the size to the job, because a tin once opened does not keep indefinitely. Work in air that moves; contact adhesive gives off strong fumes in a closed room. Line the pieces up before they touch - once they meet, they do not slide.
