CONTA (500g)

Conta in a 500 gram tin. Half a kilo is the quantity a fitting job needs rather than a repair: laminating a full kitchen's worktops and upstands, facing a set of cabinet doors, covering a shop counter or reception desk, bonding sheet rubber or matting over an area, and re-covering a batch of chairs. Contact adhesive is bought by weight because coverage depends entirely on how thinly it is spread and how thirsty the surface is - bare chipboard drinks far more than laminate does, and a porous face often wants a first thin coat left to soak in before the real one. Both surfaces get coated, both are left until touch-dry, and the joint is made by pressure. Roll or block the whole area down, working from one end to push the air out.
