B.Pad Sandpaper - (P60)

A fibre sanding disc in P60 grit, run on a backing pad fitted to an angle grinder. It is the second step in the sequence: after P40 has stripped paint, rust or material off, P60 takes out the deep scratches that left behind, without the slowness of jumping straight to a fine grade on a surface that is still rough. Used on steel after weld dressing and rust removal, on filler once it has been shaped, on timber being taken back to bare wood, and on concrete and screed. The pad behind it flexes so the abrasive follows curves and contours rather than cutting the high spots away. Skipping this step usually shows up later: the coarse scratches telegraph through paint even after a finer disc has been over them.
