Bolt & Nut (M8 x 25mm/1-inch)

An M8 bolt, 25mm long, supplied with its nut. Bolt and nut together is the useful part: a bolt without the matching nut on the shelf is a trip back to the shop, and mismatched thread pitches are one of the commonest small frustrations in a workshop. At 25mm this is a short bolt, for clamping thin assemblies - bracket to bracket, plate to angle, gate hardware, machine guards and covers, and joining section where there is little material to pass through. Turned with a spanner or socket, so it can be pulled up genuinely tight and undone again later. Use a washer under the head and nut on soft or slotted material to spread the load and stop the bolt pulling through.
